Communication Director of Medeama SC Patrick Akoto and midfielder, Justice Blay Communication Director of Medeama SC Patrick Akoto and midfielder, Justice BlayCommunication Director of Medeama SC, Patrick Akoto has stated that midfielder Justice Blay will only leave the club on their terms and won’t be forced to sell their prize asset. The midfielder has been involved in a “tapping-up row” with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.Blay underwent his medical examination in Tarkwa over the weekend following a successful loan spell but returned to Kumasi in a sensational twist to force his transferThe midfielder is in a tussle with his employers after he traveled to the country’s second-largest city without permission. While Medeama say they are ready to negotiate for his release, they insist that the midfielder will only leave the club on their terms.”Nobody can force us to sell him. We have been talking with competing clubs and hopefully, we bring closure to this matter,” Akoto told Accra-based Hot FM.”However, let me state without any equivocation that Justice Blay will only leave Medeama on our terms – not the other way round.””We hold his economic rights and so extremely important we all exhibit mutual respect.””Any potential transfer won’t be forced on us. It won’t happen today nor tomorrow.””Medeama president Moses Armah is an accomplished businessman and won’t kowtow to any pressure. The club is always ready to do business but it must be done by the books.”Kotoko, who are two-time African champions and claim to be the richest club in Ghana is struggling to meet Medeama’s $50,000 valuation of the midfielder as they plan crowd-funding to secure his signature. Both clubs have failed to reach an agreement but the latest scenario could completely jeopardize any attempt to sign the player.Blay, a former Hasaacas and Eleven Wise midfielder has a running contract with Medeama until 2022.Send your news stories to and features to . Jean Mensa, EC Chairperson play videoJean Mensa, EC Chairperson Kwesi Pratt Jnr, the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, is alleging that a joint police and military team is guarding the residence of Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC). According to him, security operatives are using armoured vehicles to protect her. “Last week I was coming home from town, late at night, there were barricades around her house; you can’t drive in front of her house without being thoroughly searched and so on. What is it that has highlighted the security level of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission?” he asked on the Alhaji and Alhaji show on Pan African TV broadcast on Sunday. “What does National Security know that we don’t know? In any case, why does she feel so frightened as to call for this level of security, and if this level of security is called for, then something must be happening,” he noted. Pratt also stated that he has never witnessed such protection for any Chairperson of the Electoral Commission before, and stressed that “something is happening”. He further cautioned the Security authorities: “And today, I’m sending a very very clear warning to the security services. What happened at Ayawaso West Wuogon will never be allowed to happen again. In Ayawaso West Wuogon, after firing a few shots, injuring a few people and so on, people started scattering. The NDC even went to the extent of pulling out of the elections. I think that is history but I’m seeing things happening,” he said. Pratt further added that he had seen videos of civilians confronting 30 to 40 policemen armed to the teeth and disarming them. “The Ghanaian population is no longer afraid of guns and bullets. What I am seeing convinces me that the people of Ghana are determined to ensure that nobody bullies them. The people of Ghana have come to the point where they realize that mass mobilization is an antidote to vigilantism,[…] reckless abuse of soldiers and policemen to the achievement of narrow partisan interests,” unhappy Kwesi Pratt indicated. He warned further that anybody who tries that on December 7 will regret it. “The use of violence and intimidation is not going to work on December 7, it will not work. We will not allow that to work. If at the end of the elections, the people of Ghana genuinely and truly want Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to continue in office, all of us will agree. The ballot will speak; The ballot will speak the voice of the people; The ballot must be allowed to say what the people want and we will respect that. If at the end of elections on December 7, the people of Ghana decide that the new president they want is John Dramani Mahama, let nobody dare change that,” he warned. Daniel Okyem Aboagye, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bantama Constituency, Daniel Okyem Aboagye, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bantama Constituency,Click to read all about coronavirus → The Member of Parliament for the Bantama constituency in the Ashanti region, Daniel Okyem Aboagye, has refuted claims that the decision to pay depositors of collapsed banks and Microfinance institutions ahead of the December polls is for votes. According to Mr Okyem Aboagye, government failed to pay depositors earlier because there were funds to settle them. Government has released an amount of GHC3.5 billion to pay depositors of banks and microfinance which were collapsed beginning today Wednesday September 16,2020. “Notice is hereby given that with effect from Wednesday 16 September 2020, affected depositors may contact any branch of Consolidated Bank Ghana Ltd (“CBG”) the paying bank to access their newly created Cash accounts which were originally designated as Commercial Paper (Bond) accounts at the bank,” a statement from the Receiver said Tuesday. It added: “The implication of the above is that depositors who have either received or are due Commercial Paper in partial satisfaction of their claims will now receive CASH payments at no discount for the Commercial Paper they have either received or is due to them. Please note that depositors who have already discounted all or part of their Commercial Paper will receive a full refund in cash of the discount they suffered.” Until this week, the government had maintained it did not have funds to settle the debts resorting to the use of bonds to offset them within five years. The NDC in their manifesto pledged to settle all debts if it returns to power after the December polls. But speaking on Morning Starr, Mr Okyem Aboagye said government had already plans to pay depositors adding that the decision is not because of the NDC promise. “Government decided to pay cash, not because of NDC but because we are working. Part of the reasons why government couldn’t pay everyone because we were looking for funds. It wasn’t as if government didn’t want to pay. Government didn’t have money to pay,” Mr Okyem Aboagye said.

Former President John Dramani Mahama Former President John Dramani MahamaClick to read all about coronavirus →Deputy National Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Asante Yeboah has told former president John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the presidency is not meant for ‘Nov Dec’ remedial examination.“We know that in Ghana we have Nov Dec where if you sit for the WASSCE and you don’t pass very well you can write the resit during the November December examination to better your results. He continued: “However, what NDC and John Dramani Mahama must accept and understand is that with the presidency, there is nothing like Nov Dec with regards to the governance of this country. John Mahama was given an opportunity to be the president and when the time was up for him to account to the good people of this country, he lost the election beyond repair.“He failed miserably but we won’t use our presidency as Nov Dec for him to come and resit as President again. Whatever privileges that he needs in his entire life, Ghanaians have provided it to him accordingly,” he added.Speaking with Shaq B on Cape Coast-based Darling FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Richard Asante Yeboah questioned why despite all the opportunities Mahama has gotten to serve Ghanaians, he couldn’t implement his ideas but wants another trial. He retorted: “From being an Assemblyman, Member of Parliament, Minister, Vice President and President so what ideas at all that upon all the opportunities he got he didn’t implement that he now wants to write remedial before he can do it. This clearly shows that the NDC as a party lack idea in terms of focus and what would help Ghana to become a developed country.”
